Karla Brown Dwyer AGACNP-BC

Secretary

Karla Dwyer is an Adult-Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC) with a comprehensive 30+ year background spanning high-acuity critical care, executive leadership, and specialized cardiovascular care. Currently, I function as an NP in Cardiology with an Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Andre Desire and concurrently manages patients across the continuum of care, performing and interpreting advanced diagnostics and contributing to clinical cardiovascular research as a clinical research coordinator and sub-investigator.

My clinical foundation was built during a decade in the CVICU/CCU at United Regional Hospital before transitioning into Chief Clinical Officer and Chief Nursing Officer roles for ten years, overseeing all clinical operations, where her leadership earned national recognition for patient satisfaction (greater than 95th percentile) and low turnover. This unique blend of C-Suite operational expertise and advanced clinical specialization in Cardiology allows me to deliver highly efficient, evidence-based care. I hold an MSN in Nursing Administration, AGACNP post Masters certification, and maintains Texas APRN licensure with DEA prescriptive authority.

She has enjoyed life with her husband, Thaddeus, since they were teenagers. Together, they have three children, four grandchildren, and fur babies. She likes to spend time with her grandchildren, and travel to new destinations in her free time.
